Thanos has arrived in a strange place in a dire time of need. A storm has decimated the homes of this city, leaving thousands homeless. It was a familiar sight to him: too many people, not enough resources to support them. It hurt his heart, that after his centuries of careful planning, his sacrifices, his ultimate success, that his reward was to be brought somewhere that his solution had not touched. He thought that he could rest now, but it seemed that there was still work to be done.
When he had told the people of Titan of his solution, they had not listened. They had dismissed him a madman, and instead they destroyed themselves. He had no intention of repeating past mistakes. He knew little of this land or its people, its capabilities or its leadership. That would come in time. He was at an extreme disadvantage of knowledge at the moment, lacking the stones, his ship, his army, his children-
His introspection caused him another spark of pain, a reminder of the loss of his children, his generals.
He would need to start anew here. Build his power. Fill the gaps of his knowledge. Only then could he bring the proper order and balance to this new place, to this 'Koryu.'
To that end, he had decided to help with the cleanup of the storm. No one knew of him here, that he was aware of. There would be no naysayers spreading warped propaganda of his goals and accomplishments. He could be whatever he needed to be, and he would start by being the genial purple giant of the 'dreamfolk.'
With none of his tools at the disposal besides a new magic trick that he had yet to find the time to develop, he was left to do simple, if extraordinary work. He could be found in the worst of the destruction, lifting thousands of pounds of crumbled stone by hand, casting debris effortlessly aside as he excavated ruins and helped to repair damaged buildings. No machine could match his strength or efficiency.
Any dreamfolk nearby might see him as he jumped down from a three story building carrying a large chunk of wall several times his size. He hit the ground with barely a flex and set the wall down next to him, only then noticing his company.
"Apologies, you escaped my notice."
Any who saw him would find an imposing creature eight feet tall, broad of shoulders, chest and chin. His eyes sparkled with intelligence and complexity.
