Trahearne looked a little uncomfortable at the sight and sound of the creature's skull shattering, but it seemed to do the trick. Whatever had animated it, there were no signs of life from it now, hanging limply as it was in Neos' grasp.

That was an unsettling thought. Trahearne wasn't confident that they could handle more than two of those at once, much less any greater numbers.
