He'd already been yelled at for that, in fact, when he passed too close to a woman with wings and the feathers inadvertently wrapped around his face when she turned around. He was trying to be more mindful of it, but old habits died hard, and the kirin were too impressive not to be completely distracting. He was nearly brushing the boy's knee when he overheard the mutter.
He looked over at the field, then back again. "Gambling? Or is it the harnesses?"
The harnesses bothered him. But he'd figured there was something about the kirin he didn't know. If someone else was also bothered...
